Activities/Attractions: Corca is perfectly located in the midst of all the golf courses and within 20 minutes of Girona City and the coast. Girona proper is steeped in the history of its medieval old city, a cobbled labyrinth of narrow alleys and watchtowers separated from the city's modern business district by the smooth-flowing Onyar River.
Girona is an adventure-sports utopia
just an hour's drive from Barcelona. Girona's foothills quickly ascend to
high-altitude skiing and climbing. But what puts Girona in a league of its
own is the Costa Brava, a white-sand stretch of Catalonian coast less than
an hour's drive east with deep coves perfect for secluded diving,
kayaking, or romancing. Barcelona is easily reached by train or car for
"We've just returned from a 6-day break at Fornells with 6 hours of beginners tuition at Gualta. You asked for feedback so here it is. We have nothing but good comments - the organisation was perfect, no problems with car hire, hotel booking etc. The Hotel in Fornells was everything you said it would be, superb service, excellent food and beautiful location. Just what we wanted. The golf tutor, Jane, was as patient as you said she would be (and she needed to be with my errant drives!). I still need to practice off the tee but both of us felt that our short game greatly improved. So very worthwhile. It was also our first visit to this area - we were enchanted with it and will certainly go back."
"Hi Jackie, I just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you for arranging such a good trip. The Gualta course and Jane's instruction were both superb and sited in such a lovely area. Thanks again - the trip was fun (I just need to go out and buy clubs and shoes now so I can practice!)."
"My husband and I enjoyed a brilliant week of golf coaching with Jane Fernley at the Golf School in L'Estartit 22nd - 26th May. My husband will be completing the feedback questionnaire but we cannot praise Jane enough. She is a brilliant coach!"
General Information: Welcome to El Reces Rural Hotel Guest House Bed & Breakfast in the medieval village of Corca, close to Girona, Costa Brava, Spain. We offer a traditional Catalan stone house with areas dating back to the 14th Century, renovated to a high specification with modern fittings, but retaining the character of the property.
All rooms are spacious with individual features such as terraces & balconies and each room is positioned off a central stairway leading to the top floor lounge & terraces, which have views over the village. Previously the house was owned by an artist who opened the ground floor as an art gallery each summer. Architect Josep Ferres Marco and stonemasons Cordon y Carrillo completed careful restoration of the house in 2003 for owners Julie Gillett and Jane Fernley.
Whether for a short break or a longer holiday, we provide a very different experience to the standard Spanish/Mediterranean holiday. Corca is a traditional village where Catalan is spoken, but it is also on good routes to explore all the local area.

"Thanks very much for a very enjoyable stay with you in Corça. We really liked your house and the breakfasts were great. The golf lessons were excellent and we both felt we learned a lot even if we didn't seem to! We had a lovely drive back on Friday - we took the scenic route across the Pyrénées - and the autumn colours were fantastic. There was even a dusting of snow on the higher peaks."
"Greetings from a very wet and windy Birmingham, firstly may I say a belated thanks for a great weeks golf tuition, both Carol and I had a really great time and have certainly caught the golf bug. We have been to the driving range a couple of times since we got back and I have just hit another bucket of balls with a work colleague, I even managed to get a good number high and straight past the 100m mark, so something must have sunk in." Hope that you are well and the weather is sunny."
