There is the mountain ... providing excellent climbing, skiing, tramping and photography. The mountain is the source of over 50 rivers and streams and is a botanically unique area. It contains a wide variety of vegetation from sub-tropical semi coastal forest in the Kaitake ranges through to sub alpine herb fields 1800 metres on the main cone.

The six-acre homestead garden is surrounded by deep river gorges clad in pristine native forest. A 30m suspension bridge leads to an 8 acre Long Field and 500 ornamental trees. Beyond are hills and valleys of native forest, plantation timbers and fascinating streams for the intrepid explorer.

General Information: Welcome to Tepopo Gardens & Sarsen House in Stratford, New Zealand ... set in 34 acres of woodland, garden and native forest named after the area - Te Popo. A Maori name for "lullaby", Te Popo is a peaceful country retreat of great beauty filled with birdsong.

Separated by a large courtyard, the Guest Wing houses four individually-appointed, spacious suites, each with private access.

• Treetops Suite is light, bright and appealing upstairs suite with large windows overlooking beautiful ornamental trees.
  
• Rose Garden Suite is beautifully appointed, cheerful in yellow and blue tones.
  
• Kingfisher Suite has rich tones of terracotta, cream and azure blue in the furnishings create a warm welcoming ambiance.
