Activities/Attractions: The region offers some of the best of Scotland's beautiful scenery - miles of unspoilt and varied coastline with sandy beaches and rock pools, rich rolling farmland and moody moorland to explore and enjoy.

Our mild climate allows many sub-tropical plants to thrive in glorious gardens such as Logan, Castle Kennedy and Threave. On the south Ayrshire coast, Culzean Castle and Country Park has much to offer - from the famous Adam ceilings in the Castle itself to the beautiful gardens and woodlands of the Park.

The area is also a treasure trove of historical heritage. Neolithic standing stoners on bleak hillsides, rugged castles and towers dotted along the coastline and high in the hills, grand stately homes and estates... they're all here to be discovered, explored and enjoyed.

Whithorn, where St. Ninian established the first Christian church in Scotland, offers a fascinating insight to life as it was here after the collapse of the Roman Empire.

The estate and its surroundings have a rich bird and animal wildlife, protected by the Pickups and available to nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers. An excellent base from which to tour and study the historical and natural heritage of this part of Scotland.

Golf, trout and salmon fishing, deer stalking, 4-Wheel Drive, game and wildfowl shooting, are also offered at all levels of skill. Tuition is available to those who wish for it. Craigadam is conveniently sited for those wishing to visit:

  • Galloway Forest Park
  • The Marchars
  • Kirkcudbright & Gatehouse
  • Dalbeattie & Castle Douglas

"... Craigadam specialises in providing facilities to match individual requirements. So flexible are the arrangements that it can be on a one-to-one basis"
