Activities/Attractions: Canada’s largest city is ideally placed on the northwest shore of Lake Ontario, eastern most of the Great Lakes that connect to the North Atlantic via the St Lawrence Seaway. Ethnically diverse, Toronto is Canada’s largest metropolitan area, with a population of 5.4 million. The province of Ontario has its seat of government here and Toronto is its cultural, entertainment and financial heart. A quarter of the country’s population lives within a 160-km (100-mile) radius of the city. Niagara and the US border are just 90 minutes away.

While guests are aboard, the Boat B&B stays docked in Toronto’s harbour, providing easy access to all that the city has to offer. Nestled in the heart of Marina Quay West along with the award winning Toronto Music Garden, the Boatel is conveniently docked at the foot of Spadina street with easy access to the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) buses and streetcars.

We have negotiated special pricing for our guests for the following: CN Tower, Toronto Blue Jays tickets, Royal Ontario Museum, Canada’s Wonderland, Bata Shoe Museum, Hockey Hall of Fame and more.

"Making Waves Boatel was such a different experience than anything else I've tried. Diane and Ted were wonderful hosts. If you are visiting the Toronto area, I definitely recommend for the personal and unique experience."

"The hosts were fantastic and I loved the yummy breakfast and visiting with the other guests. My room was lovely with a terrific view of the CN tower. Diane even helped with my sightseeing plans. Will definitely be back my next trip to Toronto. Highly recommended."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were looked after more so than any other accommodation we have stayed at, and we like to travel so have stayed at many hotels/B&Bs. Diane and Ted give the personal touches that is missing from other venues. It was more like staying on a friend's boat and being looked after than a B&B. Thank you both for making our stay so enjoyable."

"We both loved the local knowledge that Ted and Dianne have and they gave us some excellent pointers of what to see, where to visit and places to eat. Talking to them gave us a real insight into a city that you just don't get in a hotel. Breakfast was delicious, the location is fab, Dianne organised an Edge walk at the CN Tower for us and they even invited us to join them for dinner with their friends. Our only problem was that we had to leave as we'd only booked it for half our trip! Fab people, fab boat and amazing memories."

"It doesn't get better than this. Diane and Ted are such personable, caring, attentive and helpful people. You would be privileged to share their Boatel with them and come away with an experience of a lifetime! I had my tea each morning on the lower deck watching the CN Tower and the beautiful walkway and boats along the water. Feeling very grateful and blessed!"

Open June 1st to September 30

"My second stay at Making Waves. That says volumes and I wasn't disappointed. Ted and Diane are absolutely the best. The B&B....the best. Breakfast? To kill for."

"We can't say enough good things about the boat and our hosts! We have visited several bed & breakfasts and must say this was truly an awesome and unique experience and we wished we could have stayed longer. The boat is beautiful and Diane and Ted were delightful."

"Diane and Captain Ted are great hosts. I felt right at home immediately upon arrival. Boatel is in a very convenient location to everything downtown. My cabin was cosy and well-appointed. The common areas are very spacious and there are several outdoor areas to relax and enjoy the views. Diane provided a variety of great information about the area, local attractions and festivals. The view of the Canada Day fireworks can't be beat."

"Diane and Captain Ted are wonderful hosts - very welcoming and accommodating. Diane helped us plan our excursions and dinners, and became a friend. The boat itself is beautiful, and the location could not be better. We could walk to everything downtown, and the view is magnificent. Our stateroom was spacious - and we were welcomed to it with flowers and an anniversary card! I would definitely recommend the Boatel to everyone who wants a unique experience in beautiful Toronto."

"We felt welcome. Diane and Ted are most gracious hosts. The location is great, especially if going to a concert or a ball game at the Rogers Centre. Transit is very handy too. The Boat is clean and comfy. Will definitely make plans to stay again in the future."
