Activities/Attractions: Sorrento is famous all over the world, for its remote past in the Blue Grotto, Capri preserves fascinating proofs of its remote past in the Greek Acropolis, the Tiberium Baths and Villa Jovis. From the port of Marina Grande, by funicular, you can reach the "piazzetta", set destination for the international cream of society, with sophisticated shops in the little streets nearby. Also Marina Piccola is very charming as well as the Natural Arch and Anacapri, from where you can reach Mount Solaro by chair-lift, and finally the Villa Museum of S.Michele and the "Certosa di San Giacomo".
Along the way to Sorrento is Sant'Agnello, named after its patron saint, which is venerated in the beautiful baroque church with the same name. On its side there is the imposing campanile and both are preceded by a stairway as large as the whole facade. In this church, by tradition, came the neighbourhood husbands of parturient women, to ask the Saint for a good result of the birth. From the square in front of the church, which was the former centre of the town, start the roads to the hills (Trasaella and Colli di Fontanelle, Fontanelle Hills, still rich in greenery and trees) and to the seaside.
The most outstanding point of the seaside of Sant'Agnello is without doubt the beach of Marinella, which was the landing point of a Roman villa: it is placed on the mouth of a ravine, between the tufa cliffs, and it is overhung by a terrace. From here the road continues towards Sorrento with a single belvedere, before finding the Museum Correale.
"The accommodation was clean, spacious and the kitchenette and air conditioning were fine ... The staff were polite, helpful and efficient. The pool area had rules, but these didn't spoil things and the overall pool area was clean and very enjoyable. It is well worth paying the extra for the superior bungalow - the air conditioning, kitchenette (with fridge) and extra space (5 of us stayed comfortably) made all the difference."
"LOVED Esperidi it was my best holiday ever everyone was really nice and would do anything they could to help especially Pietro who works at the pool and Alfonso and Sara who work at the restaurant I cant wait to go again. And just down the road you can get excellent chicken and chips and pizza. And the chalet was BRILL but could do with more equipment such as a kettle and toaster. Everywhere was clean and hygenic. BRILLIANT!!"
