Activities/Attractions: Stratford is an international attraction located in the heart of small-town Ontario. This city - like its premier event, the Stratford Festival of Canada - has managed to capture both elements of that unlikely equation.

Visitors revel in the quality and sophistication of everything about Stratford, from its theatres to its unique and intriguing shops. But they also enjoy the warm welcome and sense of community in this small, friendly city. But the Festival is just one of many fabulous Stratford attractions. Stratford is a city renowned for its:

  • sophisticated shopping district
  • great and varied dining locales
  • riverfront walking paths
  • art and music
  • cultural events on all sides
  • concerts — indoors and out
  • art exhibitions and cultural events planned all season long
  • The Stratford Summer Music Festival offers over 40 concerts, and runs from July to August
  • The Quilt: A Breast Cancer Support Project makes its home in Stratford
  • the exhibit in the heart of the city
  • Antiques are big in Stratford - Stratford hosts two antique shows, both in August
  • historic walking tours of Stratford
  • Garden Tours around the historic, original Festival Theatre
  • personal celebrations, often involving leisurely strolls along the Avon, picnic lunches,  dinners on sidewalk patios, and visits to the beautiful gardens throughout the city

"We had one of the nicest experience in Stratford Ont. Our host R.L. at Avon Manor made certain that our stay was enjoyable. Our Breakfast was typical of a higher end B&B. We plan on returning to the Avon Manor. BTW the Manor was built in the early 1900's and it's interior design and finish to detail are all top notch. When you add the charm of the theatre district with the meandering river this becomes a must visit location!"

"Avonview Manor has character, charm and our host Rhonda is an absolute wonder! We were greeted by her and Tony as if we were family! The room was well appointed, sheets clean and ironed! Who does that anymore? Rhonda familiarized us with the attractions in the area, places to eat etc. In the morning, we awoke to the most delicious breakfast of homemade breads, muffins and delicious artisian jams. This particular morning, Rhonda served us smoked salmon and cream cheese!! Coffee and tea along with fresh juices. What a way to start the day! Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you to Rhonda and Tony for such a warm and welcomed stay!"

"I cannot wait to go back to this warm and inviting home for another stay. I love the old home feel and all the history that comes with it. The fireplaces were burning and the meals were delicious. The century home is nestled on a lovely and quiet street. Thank you again!"

"The location of Avonview Manor is within walking distance to uptown. Close to the shopping area and places to eat out. It has a view of the Avon River that flows through Stratford. In the spring, summer and fall the tranquility would be amazing."

"This was my second stay at Avonview Manor. It didn't disappoint! It was like going home - warm, inviting and our hostess Rhonda Lee was so engaging. Love the location as it's a short walk to the shops and restaurants. Rhonda and her husband Tony gave us some great recommendations for the restaurants and after dinner entertainment. Highly recommend Avonview any time of year!"

"Loved our stay at Avonview. Charming 100 year old home, beautifully modernized and still keeping its uniquely intriguing features. Our charismatic hosts Tony and Rhonda made our stay second to none. Can’t wait to go back."

"I stayed at Avonview Manor with my two daughters. We had a splendid weekend. We were treated as part of the family, and swam in the pool with the family. We had a grand breakfast in the formal dining room looking over the back yard. It is bright, cheery and a relaxing setting for a delicious breakfast and friendly conversation over coffee with other guests. The rooms are all elegant and the service and attention is superb. The upstairs kitchenette is also a quaint relaxing corner to read a book or enjoy an evening snack/ meal on your own with your family. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast and hope to return to it with my new husband in the short future."

"My husband & I have stayed here on at least 6 separate occasions. Food is always good; hosts are gracious and friendly; location is convenient; and the Victorian style home is beautiful. Have never used the pool or hot tub, but heard it's great from other guests."

"I have been a guest at Avonview Manor a few times already and I can say that you won't be disappointed! this period home makes you feel like you have walked back in history. Most importantly is the warm welcome from Rhonda and Tony, the owners and operators of Avonview. I can assure you will have a blast. Oh, did I mention its a fabulous walk downtown along the river!"

"This past weekend, a few ladies and I got together for a fun getaway and stayed at the Avonview. What a delightful weekend it was. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, inviting and comfortable. The food was first class, delicious and beautifully presented. Without a doubt, hands down the best B&B I've stayed in. Rhonda and Tony are warm and generous hosts. I can't wait to go back."

"My husband and I stayed at Avonview Manor while visiting family in Stratford. The home was beautiful, Rhonda and Tony were incredible hosts and the breakfasts were amazing! Our son was 9 months old at the time and Rhonda was so accommodating and considerate. I'll be staying there next time I'm in Stratford!"
