Activities/Attractions: Often called the "Garden of France", the Loire Valley is an enchanted land of vineyards, flowers and rolling green hills dotted with more than a thousand chateaux. It is perhaps the charm of its gentle pace life that has, for centuries, made it a sought-after location for poets and writers. It is a step back through the history of some of France's finest works of art.

A couple of hours south of Paris, the Loire Valley is a cultural landscape of great beauty, containing historic towns and villages, great architectural monuments, and cultivated lands formed by many centuries of interaction between their population and the physical environment. The architectural monuments span the period which saw the transition from castles as defensive structures (Loches) to renaissance chateaux, places of luxury, pleasure and refinement, which have retained defensive elements only for ornamental reasons. The Valley between Sully-sur-Loire and Chalonnes is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

"Our stay by La Marechalerie was wonderful for me and Giovanni. We hope that we can return in the future. We thanks Patricia and Danny for their kindness."

"La Maréchalerie is a real little treasure of a place in a tiny village. So quiet yet close enough to drive easily to all the attractions of the Loire Valley. The hospitality provided by Danny and Patricia is marvellous as is the advice on how to get around the area and find the attractions. If you are lucky enough to be there at the weekend, the communal dinner is recommended, but watch out for those home made liqueurs!"

"Marechalerie is a truly charming place, a very paradise dipped in the nature and the French countryside. We have appreciated the style of the rural atmosphere and the cleansing of the rooms, the exquisite breakfasts all together of bread and marmalade made in house from the fantastic Patricia, the peace and silence of the place. Also you must try the dinner all together, it is an unforgettable experience because Patricia is a wonderful cook and Danny is very friendly and gives to all us many suggestions and maps about what to see e where to go. Thanks to the kindness of Danny and Patricia, I think there is not such a beautiful place in all Loire zone: you must try to believe!"

"We enjoyed every moment from the enthusiastic welcome from Danny, the wonderful communal meal with fellow travellers from all over the world and our day trips into the region to explore with Danny's advice. We would love to return one day."

"This is a beautiful place to stay.. Danny and Patricia give a wonderfully warm welcome, fabulous food and much great advice and knowledge of the surrounding places to see. I cannot wait to go back for another visit!"
