"If you are visiting Catalunya, Sumidors is a must! our stay was so delightful we returned within days, abandoning our intended "tour". The hospitality on offer here was as warm as the sunshine, the tranquility of the mountains soothed the soul, yet a gentle breeze made lazing by a well kept pool till sunset absolute perfection. Dinner by candlelight & crickets, a simple menu of fresh food complemented by well selected wines from the locality made dining a dreamy experience. We will return, yet again to visit this quaint old place."

"Hotel Sumidors was a lovely place to rest after a few hectic days in Barcelona. The masia has been gorgeously restored by the new owners. Our room had a beautiful view and was very clean. The owners are extremely sweet and gracious hosts and are willing to help in every way. Dinner was extremely tasty & fresh and prepared by one of the owners who has attended culinary school. It was so nice to stand around the bar, have a drink and enjoy the other guests. I will surely visit again."

"Sumidors is a lovely 400 year old farmhouse set on a hillside amongst trees, shrubs and vineyards but only ten minutes drive from Sitges on the coast. The minute we stepped out of our car we were made to feel like houseguests by the owners. Our room, number 8 (the suite) was separate to the main building, with all original features, wooden beams, stone floors, shuttered window. We loved the four poster bed. Neil and Iain have a wonderful brand of hospitality. You are put at ease within a few minutes of arriving. The 'honesty' bar is a great feature and I would recommend Iain's delicious dinners, which we ate each evening by candlelight on the terrace."

"Wow! What a fabulous retreat, after the initial shock of the last kilometre up a very small winding road you are rewarded by a haven of peace and quiet. We stayed for 6 nights in the Suite (room 8) which was very comfortable and in a private location from the main house so you had total peace and quiet."

"Masia Sumidors more than lived up to expectation, it feels so personal. Great hosts. The atmosphere round the bar and eating area in the evening was friendly and relaxed."

"It was last year that we stayed at this terrific property and my stay still stays with me as a highlight of our trip. The perfect hosts and small comforts they offer that other hotels don't that make this a great spot."

"Beautiful location - tucked away in the hills, the secluded pool overlooks the peaceful landscape. And it's a short car journey from the pretty beach town of Sitges. Charming hotel - the rooms are full of character, with stone floors and big wooden doors. Friendly hosts - lovely and very helpful."

"We spent 2 weeks in Spain and this was our most memorable hotel stay. Wonderful hosts, great rustic hotel, fabulous views, wish it had been warmer so we could enjoy the pool. Great food and hospitality, and very very good taste in food and wine. Fun guys with great dogs. When we go back to Spain we will make it a point to stay there (if they still own it). A very good base camp for exploring Catalonia south of Barcelona."

"Stayed here for 5 days in June as part of a longer holiday in Catalonia. Without doubt this was the most memorable hotel of any of the places we stayed. Located only 10 minutes by car from Sitges but it is in another world."

"We will never forget our stay at Sumidors. We arrived the day after our Civil Partnership and within minutes we were celebrating with total strangers who felt like friends. This beautiful oasis attracts good people, and we enjoyed many a dinner with lively conversation and Iain's fantastic food."
