Activities/Attractions: Acharavi is the biggest village in the municipality of Thinalion. It is in the northern coast, 42 km away from the city of Corfu and at the foot of Pantokrator mountain, the highest mountain in Corfu with 914m height. Acharavi is a busy and lively resort set on the North coast of Corfu, boasting something for everyone. It is not just a resort, it is the main town for the North of the island and many of the local people visit Acharavi on a regular basis

In this region you can find many bars, tavernas and restaurants with Greek and international cuisine. In the ancient times Acharavi was named Ivi. When however the Romans destroyed the area and killed all its young people, its name was changed to "Acharavi ivi", which means misfortunate youth.

  • Nowadays Acharavi is a big tourist center with a big beautiful sandy beach
  • With many alternative forms of entertainment, water sports and trips to the surrounding areas
  • Acharavi is a family resort offering everything from the sandy beach for young children and adults alike to the night life that teenagers require
  • The re-opening of the Corfu trail in the hills behind and above the resort has opened this resort up to walkers
  • On the beach there are the usual water sports including boats, canoes, pedallos, waterskiing and parascending as well as sunbeds and umbrellas, all at reasonable prices

Corfu is one of the Ionian Islands which nestle off the West side of the Greek mainland. The island is 36 miles long and at its widest part, the North, 15 miles wide. Covered with over 3 million evergreen olive trees, watered by winter rains, Corfu, even during the hot dry summers remains one of the greenest of the Mediterranean islands.  At the center is 'Mount Pantocrator' with a height of 998 meters. The North East coast is made up of sheltered rocky coves and shingle beaches offering secluded bays and traditional fishing villages.
