Activities/Attractions: Poland's stunning second city, is a captivating place both to travel to and live in. With Poland's accession to the European Union in 2004, there has been a slow but steady increase in foreigners and tourists alike looking for (and often finding) something truly special in the city. Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish scientific, cultural and artistic life. As the former national capital of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, with a history encompassing over a thousand years, the city remains the spiritual heart of Poland. It is a major center of local and international tourism, attracting seven million visitors annually.
Visiting Krakow is a refreshing break from much of European travel, where similar cities blend together, and the dominance of English might make you wonder if you ever left North America. The cobble stoned streets, majestic churches (almost 100 historical churches!), and old world charm make Krakow an unforgettable destination. Krakow is home to Poland's most prestigious university, Jagellonian, which has been established for over 600 years, in addition to a further 17 centers of higher education, which host a student population of approximately 160,000. Essentially a university town, Krakow has the vibrant night life and expanse of restaurants, bars, and night clubs that you would expect in a city with such a young population. The B&B offers easy access to:
"Thanks for your hospitality during our stay in Krakow. We will probably return someday. We didn't get to see Nova Huta and some other places. We enjoy Poland."
"The apartment was lovely and spacious. The owner was very friendly and welcoming but also let us do our own thing. 15/20 min. walk from the centre of Krakow. Trams is less then 5 min. and very cheap."

"We did a trip this summer where we stayed in Vienna, Budapest and Krakow. In the first two cities we stayed at the Hilton and a famous older hotel and the last 5 days we spent at the Krakow Lodge. We preferred the B&B because of the space (we stayed in the larger apartment) and the homey-ness. It was very clean and the innkeeper is very nice and accommodating lady. The tram, with a stop across the street, is a great way to get around the City and there are two good sized markets a few blocks away. Also check out the market two tram stops toward the city for the best blueberries you ever had."
