Activities/Attractions: The town of Kenmare is situated in the Southwest corner of the Republic of Ireland, located south of Killarney and on the Ring of Kerry. Kenmare is a haven of tranquillity, gourmet food, superb accommodation and breathtaking scenery in one of the most natural, unspoilt environments in Europe. Cradled in the heart of Kenmare Bay, the picturesque town of Kenmare is the perfect location from which to discover the South West of Ireland, linking the internationally famous Ring of Kerry with the rugged Ring of Beara.

The Ring of Kerry, known all over the world, follows the coastline of the Iveragh Peninsula. It is one of the most dramatic scenic drives in the country and makes a most exciting day tour. Along the 175km route are picturesque villages, an abundance of historical landmarks, sandy coves and beaches.

  • Enjoy your days golfing (just a short walk away)
  • Explore this breathtaking part of Ireland, either by car, tour-bus, bicycle or on one of the numerous walking trails nearby
  • Take a boat-trip on Kenmare Bay and savour the best that Mother Nature has to offer
  • Enjoy your evenings dining in Kenmare's numerous award-winning restaurants, followed by nights of traditional Irish music and song in the town pubs

Mulcahy's award winning Restaurant is located on the ground floor of Virginia's Guesthouse. Chef Bruce Mulcahy has received many accolades for his unique style of cooking and was voted second best chef in southern Ireland by Food & Wine Magazine 2007! Dinner at Mulcahy's is an absolute treat and a "must" for foodies who appreciate exceptional cuisine.
