Guestrooms: 8

Address: San Polo 1451, 30100 Venice, Italy

Activities/Attractions: Literally 50 meters from the Grand Canal, situated in the Rialto neighborhood, the hotel can easily be reached either on foot or using public transportation. Indeed, it is just a few steps away from one of the most popular places in the city, the Rialto market, where art and history commingle with the simplicity of daily life. From here, it is only five-minutes’ walk to such places as:

  • the Scuola Grande of San Rocco
  • the Basilica of the Frari
  • Ca' Pesaro Modern Art Museum
  • the Rialto Bridge
  • Campo San Polo – which is an important venue during the Venice Carnival and during the Venice Film Festival (when the square is turned into an open-air cinema)

And there are additional attractions beyond art: everyday Venetian life among small arts and crafts shops, fascinating voices and colors which make Venice such a unique city with no equals in the world.

"It might have just been because we were in Venice but from the moment we arrived at Arco Antico we loved it ... there was a terrific feel about the hotel. The location was wonderful, it's not far from the Rialto bridge which is a gateway to the other side of the canal ... this was one of the best hotels we stayed in. There's something special about this place."

"This small and friendly b&b has a fantastic, albeit difficult to find, location. Once discovered, it is marvellous and easy to find again. The owners are helpful and courteous. We have stayed here twice and are heading back for our third visit in Feb 2007 ... we LOVE this hotel and recommend it to our friends and family as a reasonably priced beautifully presented friendly establishment well placed for food, drinks and amenities."

"A lovely Venetian home converted into a small inn. Immaculately clean, charming owners and employees. Very helpful in making restaurant reservations and booking tickets to performances and in offering assistance in any other way. Breakfast is very good and filling ... it a most charming spot to stay while in Venice."

"A great find. We were pleasantly surprised at the spacious rooms and updated bathrooms. Marco and Franco have a beautiful B&B. The location is great too. Very near the Rialto Bridge and situated between 2 water taxi stops. Good breakfast too!"

"The location was superb. Some great restaurants (proper Italian, not tourist Italian) within literally a stone's throw and some great shopping. The room, which accommodated all five of us, was very well presented - marble floors, upholstered walls, comfy beds and absolutely spotless. Breakfast typically European, but you'd never starve, was great! We're coming back - thanks guys!"

"A very good, small B+B hotel just five minutes walk from Rialto Bridge but in a quieter and much nicer location (San Silvestre boat stop). In an area with its own shops and restaurants so you don't have to venture far for dinner, and very convenient for getting everywhere. Spotless rooms, very adequate Italian style breakfast, and owners were very friendly and helpful, also multi lingual. Very good value hotel, to be recommended. Can't think of anything negative to say about it."

"The B&B lived up to all of the other positive reviews here. It is conveniently located, but still a little bit off the beaten track in a real Venetian neighborhood. The property is an easy walk from the San Silvestri vaperatto stop, and the Rialto Bridge is nearby. The proprietors speak excellent English, and as another reviewer noted, one of them - Marco - likes to talk politics. He also told us that the building was renovated three years ago, and the rooms and hall ways are beautifully maintained. The breakfast is small but adequate. We had two excellent meals within a five minute walk from the hotel, including at the "Little Potato" which Marco recommended. All and all this B&B is an excellent value."

"The staff was very kind, helpful, really a familiar atmosphere. The location is perfect. It was really worth the price, and also the room was wonderful. A real suggestion for those who would like to stay in Venice."
