Activities/Attractions: Antigua, the largest of the British Leeward Islands, is about 14 miles long and 11 miles wide, encompassing 108 square miles. It is known for its beaches and its sailing history. Powdery beaches - 366 of them - are public, and range from deserted to lively. Finding the right one for you is part of the fun. The northwestern area is where you'll find most of the beaches, nightlife, shopping, watersports facilities and restaurants. The reefs around Antigua provide wonderful snorkeling and diving spots.
Most people in Antigua will agree that the beach at Long Bay is by far, one of the best on the island, with its natural beauty and its friendliness towards bathers it truly captivates all. The turquoise Ocean water is crystal clear, calm and shallow near shore, perfect for the timid swimmer. The beach at Long Bay is so nice; it is one of the most popular on the island and may be busy at times, with children playing in the calm water.
There is a wonderful barrier reef, just yards away from the sand, to be explored. We offer custom made Beach Chaise lounges, enough for every guest, with many shade Umbrellas, Towels and Snorkeling gear which are all provided. Drinks are brought to you as you relax on the sand while Lunch and snacks are available in the Beach House restaurant.
"Two weeks after our return our time at Long Bay continues to bring back good memories. The hotel is unique in its ambience. The rooms are more equivalent to beach chalets than modern hotel rooms which means that a lovely breeze blows through & you hear the lapping of the bay at the porch. Wonderful & fantastic are fitting descriptions: the beach, the sea, the snorkelling, the water sports, the food, the public areas & most of all the people. The atmosphere is totally relaxed & the management work at it being so."
"My wife and I spent a long weekend in the Antiguan sun at the Long Bay Hotel in early February 2006. We were extremely pleased with our accommodations and thought the staff was excellent, from the manager right on down to the cleaning staff. The Long Bay Hotel is all about simply relaxing and enjoying your island time."
"In this day and age it is rare to come across family run, professional hotels. Long Bay is a wonderful exception to the blandness that is all-inclusive resorts. The location is second to none in Antigua, and although the beach is shared with the large Pineapple Beach resort at the opposite end of the bay, Long Bay's beach is immaculate, tranquil and beautifully tended. The Front of House Manager is a true professional, his discreet attention to guests, his upkeep of the beach and beach loungers and his ability to make all guests feel personally welcome is a rare treat these days. We dream of returning."
"... Who needs a pool when you have a beach with white sand and almost perfect blue water that I might add is not crowded, quite and very relaxing. I would imagine that most grips come back to the rooms (basic) but I would say that in the end they almost grow on you or at least did for me and my wife. The food was amazing and changed each night. The atmosphere was great and Sam the bartender is a delightful guy that makes the trip enjoyable. I would also add to the list Sandra (bartender) and Chris the owner not to mention Roma, all great individuals that made the trip fun and unique. I would recommend a trip to Harmony Hall and if daring enough rent a car and drive the island. In summary I would say take the risk and you will be glad you did."
"We had such a wonderful relaxing time at Long Bay. We want to thank all, for providing us with exquisite varieties of food and sincere warm customer service. Antigua is a beautiful island paradise and Long Bay, hotel and its staff make Antigua that much better because it retains that small Caribbean charm feel. After staying at Long Bay, we stayed at a large chain resort, also on Antigua, where we thought we would again find paradise, but we soon found out we were wrong. The chain resort offered nothing but poor food and bad plumbing. We thank all of the people at Long bay who made our visit a success."
"There is just something about this hotel that made it the most relaxing of any Caribbean vacation we have taken. The hotel is situated between a beautiful beach and Long Bay. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was consistently delicious. The hotel has a great relaxed atmosphere, and any special requests we made (rental car, scuba trips) were handled smoothly by the front desk staff ... This was not the most deluxe hotel we have ever stayed in, but this is the first one we plan on visiting again. We had a great time."

"While staying at the Long Bay hotel, I recall hearing the Atlantic waves crashing in the distance and listening to a flock of egrets as they settled down for the night in the mangroves across the bay. The Long Bay hotel is small, intimate, and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and airy with a wide porch you can sit on to enjoy the bay. The beach is not crowded with beautiful turquoise clear water. It is great for swimming and snorkeling as it has a reef very easy to access. The food was always good with a different dinner menu every night. There was also music entertainment. This is a great place to stay while in Antigua. I highly recommend renting a car though so you can get around the rest of the island easily."
