Marronniers Guest House in Provence France
Les Marronniers Guest House Gard Uzes Provence South France Bed and Breakfast B&B Guesthouse Lodgings Accommodations
Hosts: John Karavias & Michel Comas
Address: Les Marronniers, Place De La Mairie, La Bruguiere 30580 France
Activities/Attractions: This area of Provence is wonderful for those who love to walk; cycle; paint; canoe; swim, shop or partake of the local culinary delights. Hill villages, chateaux and vineyards cover the landscape.
We are an hour from the Camargue, the Ardeche and the Cevennes, not to mention the rest of Provence. The mediaeval walled city of Avignon is nearby as are Orange, Nimes and Arles with their remarkably preserved remains.
Ten minutes away is the beautiful town of Uzes, an ancient Duchy much of which was built in the 15th and 16th century or earlier. With its teeming sidewalk cafes, restaurants and shops, it hosts a Saturday Provencal market that must be amongst the most colorful and picturesque in Europe.
"I know you must get emails from your guests all the time, gushing over how incredible their time was with you ... but Oh My Gosh, it really was!!! Thank you so much for restoring that house and sharing it and your talents. I really do miss you and the experience. The longer I stayed in France the more I didn't want to come back here ... (and it hasn't changed since I have been back.) I have never taken a vacation that I wasn't glad to get back home ... until now. I am already working on a way to get back there. Only this time I would like to stay longer. Michel, I have told everybody about you wonderful dinners and dear ways ... and Johnnie, I tell everyone about your pony tail, kisses, and stories! I came back knowing that the French certainly know how to live. Even the children and dogs are calm ... because the grown-ups seem to be so non-stressed. I didn't mean to ramble on so ... I just meant to say "THANK YOU" and I will be back!"
"Many thanks for another restful break in your lovely home. Coming back is always a risk but we need not have worried, the warm and friendly welcome is just as we remembered it."
"Not in a life time will we be able to give you the same warmth and hospitality we have found here, although we hope to invite some day to our “Chateau” and give you a good welcome."
simply adored your beautiful home and delightful company ! This as been
such a perfect honeymoon respite, we are already planning a return. Thank
you for folding us in to your lives. "

the most enjoyable stay ever at a B&B. The house is lovely of course,
but the highlight of the stay is undoubtedly Michel and Johnny. I hope to
come back soon. "
"After moving house, changing jobs, and getting engaged. This was just the relaxing break we needed. The house is wonderful and you have been terrific hosts as well as new friends."

General Information: Welcome to Les Marronniers Guest House, a 19th Century (1812) Maison de Maitre (Masters House) located in Provence in the South of France. Our home since 1989, and after ten years of restoring it, we decided to open it up to a small number of paying guests of which many have become our friends.
Offering a haven away from large hotels, we open our doors to only eight people (plus an occasional houseguest or two).
"Les Marronnier", is situated in a small village called La Bruguiere, a charming place to walk in and around just enjoying the views and practicing your French with the locals playing Petanque in the shaded square outside the house. Built on three levels around 1812 with an enclosed forecourt, it is shaded by chestnut trees, where we often dine or just sit and relax.
On the other side of the house is a good size swimming pool set in a lawn surrounded by flowering shrubs and plants. Ample garden furniture provides poolside seating under the old fig tree. Features include:
Evening Meals (when available) are €45 per person including four courses with wine, aperitif and coffee. Meals can be provided in the dining room or the front garden, under the Marronniers (chestnut trees).
Payment Accepted: Visa, MasterCard.
Rates: (Prices quoted in Euros).
All including local tourist tax and breakfast.
"We had a
delightful time at Les Marronniers, what a charming place
and exquisitely appointed. You've both done a great job with the
redecorating. The flamboyance and never ending hospitality was
unexpected but none the less appreciated. The next time we are in Provence
you can count on us staying at your establishment, even if we have to
change our entire schedule in order to find availability. Thanks to
you both for making the beginning of our travels in Southern France and
Italy so enjoyable."
