Activities/Attractions: The English Riviera is a resort in the truest sense of the word, attracting visitors of all ages and interests throughout the year. Undergoing a water front regeneration and a number of new attraction and accommodation schemes, Torquay has something for everyone and for all ages, at all times of the year!

Torquay has been one of the UK's top holiday destinations since Victorian Times when the gentry promenaded, bathing huts were wheeled down to the beaches and anyone who was anyone had an attractive villa overlooking the sea.

  • 22 miles of coastline, cliffs, coves and beaches
  • walks to rival any in the South West of England
  • a climate that belongs somewhere much further south
  • opportunities for surfing, safe swimming, diving, sailing, angling
  • wonderful opportunities to study the natural wildlife at your leisure

Stunning views are to be seen just about every where across the Bay, out over the English Channel, along the 40 miles of Lyme Bay to Portland Bill or inland towards the Tors of Dartmoor. Torquay is an ideal base from which to visit Dartmouth, Totnes, Exeter and Plymouth, all of which are only a few miles distant.

"A very nice, friendly hotel with lots of good qualities. The rooms were clean and tidy and all en suite. There was a nice touch of including a mini fridge in the room and although we didn't use this, if we were staying longer than one night it would have been great ... There was a TV, tea/coffee making stuff and biscuits, always good! The car parking was small but good enough and consisted of 2 or 3 spaces at the back of hotel, off the main road. The best part of the hotel is the location. Only 200 yards or so from the Town and the Harbour. It means the walk back up the hill at the end of the night is quite easy compared to hotels further up the hill!"

"Very friendly hosts (who also booked a taxi for us and gave advice on the area) and lovely vegetarian breakfast. I liked the biscuits in the room! Beautiful garden leading up to the hotel. The games in the landing were a great touch. Very personal."

"Clean and friendly hotel within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Both dog and teenage daughters were made very welcome."
